Description

A refreshing and elegant Strawberry Mimosa recipe combining fresh strawberry puree, freshly squeezed orange juice, and chilled Brut Champagne for a deliciously fruity and bubbly brunch beverage perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale

Juice and Puree

  • 8-10 medium-sized oranges
  • 1 lb strawberries
  • Sugar (optional, to taste)

Beverage

  • Brut Champagne (chilled)

Garnishes

  • Strawberries (sliced for garnish)
  • Orange slices
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Orange Juice: Cut the oranges in half and press them over an orange juicer to extract the juice. Remove any seeds that fall in. For a smoother juice without pulp, strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl. Set aside.
  2. Make the Strawberry Puree: Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly. Remove the tops and hull the interiors. Cut strawberries in half and place them into a food processor or blender. Add sugar if you prefer a sweeter puree. Pulse the strawberries initially, then blend on low progressing to high speed until the mixture achieves a smooth puree consistency. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides for even blending.
  3. Assemble the Mimosas: Evenly divide the strawberry puree among 4 champagne flutes, filling each about one-third full. Pour chilled Brut Champagne into each flute up to the halfway mark over the puree, followed by topping off with the freshly squeezed orange juice.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Garnish each glass with a slice of strawberry on the rim and add either fresh mint leaves or a small orange slice for a colorful, fragrant touch. Serve immediately for the best taste and fizz.

Notes

  • If you prefer a drier mimosa, reduce or omit the sugar in the strawberry puree.
  • Use freshly chilled Brut Champagne for optimal fizz and flavor.
  • Freshly squeezed orange juice is best, but store-bought pure orange juice can be substituted if necessary.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the champagne with sparkling water or sparkling grape juice.
  • Chill the glasses beforehand to keep the drink cooler longer.
