Description

Indulge in a flavorful and satisfying meal with this Shrimp and Sausage Cabbage Bowl. A delicious combination of smoked sausage, succulent shrimp, and tender cabbage, seasoned to perfection and served with a zesty touch of lemon juice and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp and Sausage Cabbage Bowl:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 pound smoked sausage (sliced into rounds)
  • 1/2 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 small head green cabbage (cored and thinly sliced)
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 4–5 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the cabbage, smoked paprika, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, for 8–10 minutes until cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
  5. Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet and stir to combine. Drizzle with lemon juice, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute turkey sausage for a lighter option.
  • Add bell peppers for extra color and crunch.
  • Adjust spice level to taste.
