Ingredients
Scale
Noodles
- 2 packs instant ramen noodles (without seasoning)
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Aromatics & Vegetables
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
Additional
- 1/4 cup peanuts, crushed (optional)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Cook Noodles: Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions until tender, then drain them thoroughly and set aside. Discard the seasoning packets or save them for another use.
- Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Cook Vegetables: Add the sliced mushrooms and julienned carrots to the skillet. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes or until the vegetables are tender and slightly softened.
- Combine Noodles and Vegetables: Add the cooked ramen noodles into the skillet with the vegetables, stirring gently to mix well and heat through.
- Add Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and vegetables. Toss thoroughly so everything is evenly coated and heated through, about 2 minutes.
- Finish with Herbs: Remove the skillet from heat, then stir in the sliced green onions and chopped cilantro for fresh flavor and color.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally sprinkle crushed peanuts over the top for added crunch and serve the saucy ramen noodles hot.
Notes
- Adjust sriracha quantity to control the spiciness to your preference.
- You can substitute oyster sauce with mushroom stir-fry sauce for a vegetarian version.
- Adding other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas can enhance the dish’s nutrition and color.
- For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free soy sauce and noodles.
- Crushed peanuts add a nice texture but can be omitted for nut-free diets.
