Description

Celebrate any patriotic occasion with these festive Red, White & Blue Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Lusciously dipped in white chocolate and adorned with vibrant blue sugar sprinkles, these strawberries offer a delightful combination of sweetness and fresh fruit flavor. Perfect as a crowd-pleasing dessert or elegant party treat, they’re easy to make and a beautiful addition to any dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bag white chocolate chips
  • 16 oz fresh strawberries
  • Blue sugar sprinkles, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chocolate: Pour half of the white chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  2. Wash and Dry Strawberries: Rinse the strawberries thoroughly under cold water, then dry completely with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to ensure the chocolate adheres properly.
  3. First Chocolate Dip: Dip each strawberry about two-thirds of the way into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  4. Set on Wax Paper: Place the dipped strawberries onto wax paper to allow the first chocolate layer to set and harden slightly.
  5. Heat Remaining Chocolate: Melt the remaining half of the chocolate chips by microwaving again at 50% power, stirring until smooth.
  6. Second Chocolate Dip and Sprinkle: Once the first coat has begun to harden, re-dip the lower one-third of the strawberry into the melted chocolate and immediately sprinkle the blue sugar sprinkles over this area for the “blue” accent.
  7. Refrigerate to Set: Place the decorated strawberries back onto the wax paper and refrigerate for at least 8 hours to allow the chocolate to harden completely and achieve the optimal texture.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  • Use wax paper to prevent sticking and to easily remove strawberries after setting.
  • Microwaving chocolate at 50% power and stirring frequently helps prevent overheating and burning.
  • Store finished strawberries in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
  • For a more vivid blue color, use colored sanding sugar or edible glitter instead of regular sprinkles.
