Description

This Potsticker Soup is a comforting and flavorful dish that combines the beloved flavors of potstickers with a nourishing broth, vegetables, and aromatic seasonings. Perfect for a cozy night in or a quick weeknight meal.

Soup:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 6 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (optional)

Add-Ins:

  • 1216 frozen potstickers or dumplings (pork, chicken, or vegetable)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oils: In a large pot, heat sesame oil and olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Sauté aromatics: Add diced onion, sauté until translucent. Stir in garlic and ginger, cook until fragrant.
  3. Add broth and seasonings: Pour in chicken broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili garlic sauce. Bring to a boil.
  4. Cook potstickers: Add frozen potstickers and shredded carrots, simmer until potstickers are heated through.
  5. Finish soup: Stir in baby spinach until wilted. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve: Ladle into bowls, garnish with green onions.

Notes

  • You can use any variety of frozen dumplings—pork, chicken, shrimp, or vegetarian.
  • For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth and meatless potstickers. Add extra veggies like mushrooms, bok choy, or zucchini.
