Description

These Pizza Egg Rolls are a delicious and fun twist on traditional pizza, combining gooey mozzarella, spicy pepperoni, and zesty pizza sauce in a crispy egg roll wrapper. Perfect as an appetizer or snack, they are quick to prepare and bake to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Egg Rolls

  • 6 eggroll wrappers
  • 6 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup pepperoni, chopped
  • ½ cup pizza sauce, divided
  • 1 Tbsp pizza seasoning (or oregano)
  • 1 Tbsp parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the wrappers: Lay one eggroll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape. Place about 2 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese near the bottom center of the wrapper.
  2. Add toppings: Top the cheese with 2-3 tablespoons of chopped pepperoni, then add a teaspoon of pizza sauce, sprinkle a little pizza seasoning or oregano, and finish with another tablespoon of mozzarella cheese.
  3. Roll the egg rolls: Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper up over the filling, then fold in both side corners toward the center. Carefully roll upward to encase the filling completely, ensuring the seam is on the bottom to prevent opening during cooking. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  4. Bake the egg rolls: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the rolled egg rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Optionally, brush the tops with a little oil or cooking spray for extra crispiness. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Serve hot with the remaining pizza sauce for dipping. Optionally, sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute pepperoni with other pizza toppings such as ham, sausage, or vegetables.
  • For extra crispiness, you may lightly spray the egg rolls with cooking oil before baking.
  • Make sure to seal the egg rolls well to avoid the filling leaking out while baking.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.
