Description

Delicious and easy-to-make pecan pie crescent rolls combine classic pecan pie flavors with flaky crescent roll dough. Perfect for a sweet breakfast treat or dessert, these rolls are filled with a rich mixture of pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, and warm spices, then baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Rolls

  • 1 can crescent roll dough (8-count)

Filling

  • 1 cup chopped or halved pecans
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or 1 tablespoon bourbon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the pecans, brown sugar, light corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, salt, and if desired add cinnamon or bourbon for extra flavor. Mix well until evenly incorporated.
  3. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. If needed, pinch the seams together to prevent filling from leaking out during baking.
  4. Fill and Roll: Place a spoonful of the prepared pecan filling onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll the dough tightly from the wide end to the narrow tip, forming crescent shapes.
  5. Arrange Rolls: Place the filled crescent rolls spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet to allow for even baking and expansion.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are puffed up and golden brown.
  7. Optional Finishing Touch: While the rolls are still warm, you may drizzle any extra filling over the tops or add a powdered sugar glaze for extra sweetness and presentation.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let the rolls cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before serving to allow the filling to set slightly.

Notes

  • You can substitute light corn syrup with honey or maple syrup if preferred.
  • For a boozy twist, bourbon enhances the flavor but can be omitted for a kid-friendly version.
  • Ensure rolls are tightly sealed to avoid filling leakage.
  • Serve warm for best texture and taste.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for 4 days.
