Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Rolls
- 1 can crescent roll dough (8-count)
Filling
- 1 cup chopped or halved pecans
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or 1 tablespoon bourbon
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the pecans, brown sugar, light corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, salt, and if desired add cinnamon or bourbon for extra flavor. Mix well until evenly incorporated.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. If needed, pinch the seams together to prevent filling from leaking out during baking.
- Fill and Roll: Place a spoonful of the prepared pecan filling onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll the dough tightly from the wide end to the narrow tip, forming crescent shapes.
- Arrange Rolls: Place the filled crescent rolls spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet to allow for even baking and expansion.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are puffed up and golden brown.
- Optional Finishing Touch: While the rolls are still warm, you may drizzle any extra filling over the tops or add a powdered sugar glaze for extra sweetness and presentation.
- Cool and Serve: Let the rolls cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before serving to allow the filling to set slightly.
Notes
- You can substitute light corn syrup with honey or maple syrup if preferred.
- For a boozy twist, bourbon enhances the flavor but can be omitted for a kid-friendly version.
- Ensure rolls are tightly sealed to avoid filling leakage.
- Serve warm for best texture and taste.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for 4 days.
