Instructions
- Melt the Marshmallow Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and mini marshmallows in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until fully melted. Alternatively, melt on the stove over low heat, stirring constantly.
- Add Food Coloring: Divide the melted marshmallow mixture into separate bowls and mix in a few drops of pastel food coloring into each bowl. Stir well until fully combined.
- Mix in Rice Krispies: Add 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into each bowl of colored marshmallow mixture and stir until evenly coated.
- Shape the Eggs: Lightly spray your hands or plastic Easter egg molds with nonstick cooking spray. Scoop some of the mixture into each plastic egg mold or shape them by hand. Press gently to form a solid shape, then remove and place on wax paper to set.
- Decorate (Optional): After 10-15 minutes, decorate the Rice Krispies eggs with drizzled melted chocolate, sprinkles, or candy pieces for extra fun and visual appeal.
- Serve & Enjoy: Let the Rice Krispies eggs cool completely and set before serving to ensure they hold their shape well.
