Description

These Mac and Cheese Bites are a delightful twist on the classic comfort food. Perfectly portioned and easy to eat, they are great for parties or as a fun appetizer.

Mac and Cheese Bites:

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • ½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • nonstick cooking spray or oil for greasing


Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni: Boil macaroni until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  2. Make the cheese sauce: Melt butter, whisk in flour, add milk, cheeses, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in cooked macaroni.
  3. Add egg and bake: Mix in beaten egg, spoon mixture into greased mini muffin tins, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes.
  4. Serve: Let cool slightly before removing from pan and serving warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil the bites at the end of baking.
  • You can make ahead and reheat in the oven or air fryer.
  • Enhance with cooked bacon or jalapeños for added flavor.
