Ingredients
Scale
Salad
- 3 large ripe tomatoes, sliced into rounds
- 1/4 red onion, very thinly sliced
- 1 pinch of garam masala, to taste (optional)
Mint Dressing
- 1 cup / 250g plain yoghurt
- 2 cups mint leaves
- 1 tbsp lemon juice, or to taste
- Couple of pinches of salt
- 1 tbsp+ water
Instructions
- Prepare the Salad: Arrange the sliced ripe tomatoes and thinly sliced red onion on a serving plate. Optionally sprinkle a pinch of garam masala over the tomatoes and onions to add a warm, aromatic flavor.
- Make the Mint Dressing: In a blender or food processor, combine the plain yoghurt, fresh mint leaves, lemon juice, salt, and water. Blend until smooth and creamy, adjusting water quantity to achieve desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning accordingly.
- Serve: Drizzle the mint yogurt dressing evenly over the tomatoes and onions. Serve immediately as a refreshing side dish or light appetizer.
Notes
- For a spicier dressing, add a small green chili to the blender.
- Use fresh mint leaves for the best flavor; dried mint will not yield the same freshness.
- Adjust lemon juice and salt levels according to your taste preference.
- This salad is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 4 hours.
- Garam masala is optional but adds depth of flavor.
