Description

A deliciously smoky and hearty grilled kielbasa tortellini dish featuring juicy kielbasa, tender cheese tortellini, and vibrant grilled bell peppers and onions, all seasoned perfectly and topped with fresh parsley and Parmesan for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Pasta

  • 12 oz kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 9 oz cheese tortellini, fresh or pre-packaged

Vegetables

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, sliced

Seasonings and Garnishes

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat to prepare it for grilling the ingredients evenly and impart a nice smoky flavor.
  2. Cook Tortellini: In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the tortellini following the package instructions. Once done, drain the tortellini and set it aside for mixing.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the sliced kielbasa, cooked tortellini, olive oil, red and yellow bell peppers, red onion, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Toss thoroughly until all components are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil.
  4. Prepare Grilling Basket: Lightly grease a grilling basket to prevent sticking, then add the mixture into the basket so it can grill without falling through the grates.
  5. Grill Mixture: Place the grilling basket on the preheated grill. Cook the mixture for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure the kielbasa gets nicely charred and the vegetables become tender.
  6. Serve: Remove the grilling basket from the grill and transfer the grilled kielbasa tortellini mixture to a serving dish. Garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh or pre-packaged cheese tortellini based on convenience.
  • Adjust seasoning quantities to taste, especially the salt and pepper.
  • Stirring occasionally during grilling prevents burning and ensures even cooking.
  • If you don’t have a grilling basket, use a grill-safe skillet or foil tray.
  • Pair with a crisp green salad or crusty bread for a complete meal.
