Description

This Galaxy Lemonade Slushie is a vibrant and refreshing summer drink featuring layers of blended frozen berries and lemonade to create a stunning galaxy effect. Perfectly sweet, tart, and icy, it’s easy to prepare and ideal for hot days or fun gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups lemonade
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup (optional)

Berry Layers

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen blackberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries

Optional

  • Natural food coloring (blue and purple) for more vibrant layers

Instructions

  1. Prepare Slushie Base: In a blender, combine the lemonade and ice. Blend until smooth to create a slushie base with an icy, smooth texture.
  2. Divide Base: Pour the blended mixture evenly into three separate bowls to prepare for distinct fruit layers.
  3. Make Blueberry Layer: Blend the frozen blueberries into the first bowl until smooth and deep blue in color, optionally adding blue food coloring for enhanced vibrancy.
  4. Make Blackberry Layer: Blend the frozen blackberries into the second bowl until smooth and purple in color, optionally adding purple food coloring to brighten the shade.
  5. Make Raspberry Layer: Blend the frozen raspberries into the third bowl until smooth and pink-red in hue.
  6. Assemble Slushie: Gently spoon each berry layer into a tall glass, starting with the darkest blue blueberry layer at the bottom, followed by the purple blackberry layer, topping with the raspberry pink-red layer to create a galaxy effect.
  7. Serve: Serve the slushie immediately with a straw and an optional lemon slice on the rim for garnish.

Notes

  • Freeze glasses for 10 minutes before assembling to help keep the slushie cold longer.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding honey or simple syrup to taste, depending on the tartness of the berries.
  • For an adult version, consider adding a splash of vodka or gin to the base mixture before blending.
