Description

This Frozen Strawberry Margarita is a refreshing and vibrant cocktail perfect for warm weather. Blended with frozen strawberries, Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup, it’s a sweet and tangy treat with a salted rim and optional sugar-lime zest garnish for extra flair.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Margarita:

  • 8 ounces frozen strawberries (1 cup)
  • 1 ounce Cointreau (2 tablespoons)
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice (2 tablespoons, from about 1 lime)
  • 2 ounces Reposado Tequila (¼ cup)
  • 1 ounce agave syrup or simple syrup (2 tablespoons)
  • â…› teaspoon kosher salt
  • 8 ounces ice (1 cup)

For Larger Batch Margarita:

  • 32 ounces frozen strawberries (4 cups)
  • 4 ounces Cointreau (½ cup)
  • 4 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice (½ cup, from about 4 limes)
  • 8 ounces Reposado Tequila (1 cup)
  • 4 ounces agave syrup or simple syrup (½ cup)
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 32 ounces ice (4 cups)

For the Glass Rim:

  • 2 tablespoons margarita salt
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (from ½ lime)
  • 1 tablespoon raw sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Glass Rims: Rub the rim of each glass with a lime slice to moisten. Dip the rims into the prepared salt blend made from margarita salt, lime zest, and optional raw sugar. Set the glasses aside to let the rims set.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Place all the margarita ingredients – frozen strawberries, Cointreau, freshly squeezed lime juice, Reposado Tequila, agave or simple syrup, kosher salt, and ice – into a blender. Blend on the CHOP setting until you achieve the desired frozen, slushy consistency.
  3. Serve: Pour the blended mixture into the prepared glasses. Garnish each drink with fresh strawberries and a lime wedge for a vibrant and festive presentation. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for the best authentic margarita flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of agave or simple syrup to your preference.
  • If you prefer a saltier rim, increase the amount of margarita salt.
  • The optional raw sugar in the rim mix adds a subtle sweetness and texture.
  • This recipe can be easily scaled up or down depending on the number of servings needed.
