Description

Creamy Garlic Parmesan Broccoli is a simple yet flavorful side dish featuring tender broccoli florets coated in a rich garlic-infused Parmesan cream sauce. Perfect for adding a touch of indulgence to your meal while keeping it healthy and gluten-free.

Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Steam Broccoli: Steam or blanch the broccoli florets for 3 to 4 minutes until just tender but still vibrant green. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, careful not to burn it.
  3. Make Cream Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes (if using), then cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Combine Broccoli and Sauce: Add the steamed broccoli to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
  5. Season and Finish Cooking: Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the broccoli is heated through and fully coated.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
  • You can add cooked bacon bits or sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor.
