Ingredients
Scale
Dough and Cheese
- 1 package of refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 ounces)
- 8 ounces of Brie cheese, cut into 8 equal pieces
Filling and Topping
- 1/2 cup of cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh rosemary (optional)
Finishing
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Flour for dusting
- Fresh cranberry and rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
- Prepare Dough: Lightly dust a clean, flat surface with flour. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforations.
- Add Filling: Place one piece of Brie cheese at the wide end of each triangle. Add about 1 tablespoon of cranberry sauce on top of the Brie, sprinkle with a pinch of brown sugar and chopped fresh rosemary if using.
- Roll Bombs: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll each triangle towards the point, fully enclosing the cheese and cranberry sauce. Pinch the seams tightly to seal.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the rolled bombs onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for expansion.
- Apply Egg Wash: Brush each bomb with the beaten egg to ensure a beautiful golden and glossy finish when baked.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and flaky.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, optionally garnished with fresh cranberries and rosemary sprigs for an elegant presentation.
Notes
- Ensure the cheese is fully enclosed to prevent leakage during baking.
- Fresh rosemary is optional but adds a fragrant herbal note that complements the cranberry and Brie.
- Use homemade cranberry sauce for a fresher taste, or store-bought for convenience.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute Brie with a plant-based cheese alternative.
- These bombs are best enjoyed warm to experience the melty Brie and tender pastry.
