Description

Crab & Cheese Crescent Delight is a savory appetizer featuring flaky crescent roll dough filled with a creamy mixture of crab meat, cream cheese, shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, green onions, and a touch of lemon juice. Baked until golden and bubbly, these crescent bites make for an elegant and flavorful treat perfect for parties or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 cup cooked crab meat (fresh or canned)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese blend (cheddar and Monterey Jack)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Dough

  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the cooked crab meat, softened cream cheese, shredded cheese blend, sliced green onions, and lemon juice until all ingredients are well combined and creamy.
  3. Assemble Crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate it into triangles. Place about a tablespoon of the crab mixture at the wide end of each triangle, then carefully roll the dough up tightly towards the point, enclosing the filling.
  4. Arrange and Bake: Place the rolled crescent dough pieces on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crescents are puffed and golden brown on top.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the crescents to cool slightly for a few minutes. Serve warm, optionally paired with your favorite dipping sauce or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Use fresh crab meat for the best flavor, or canned crab meat as a convenient alternative.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to make mixing easier and the filling smooth.
  • Feel free to use different cheese blends based on your preference.
  • Can be served as an appetizer or light snack.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.
