Description

This Cottage Cheese Pizza Dip is a creamy, flavorful appetizer that combines blended cottage cheese with Italian seasoning, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and mini pepperoni. Baked until bubbly and golden, it’s perfect for serving with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables at any gathering or snack time.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/3 cup mini pepperoni slices
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400º F (205º C) to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Blend Cottage Cheese: Using an immersion blender directly in the cottage cheese container or a stand blender, blend the cottage cheese until smooth. Add the Italian seasoning and blend again to incorporate the seasoning evenly.
  3. Spread Cottage Cheese: Pour the seasoned, smooth cottage cheese into a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Use a spatula or spoon to spread it evenly along the bottom of the dish.
  4. Add Marinara Sauce: Spoon the marinara sauce over the top of the cottage cheese. Using the back of the spoon, gently spread the marinara sauce to cover the entire surface evenly.
  5. Top with Cheese and Pepperoni: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce layer. Then, distribute the mini pepperoni slices evenly on top of the cheese.
  6. Bake the Dip: Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the edges are bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  7. Rest and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and allow it to rest for about 3 minutes. Serve warm with tortilla chips or cut vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • You can blend the cottage cheese smooth to create a creamy base that mimics the texture of a traditional cheese dip.
  • Use mini pepperoni for even bite-sized distribution, or substitute with sliced olives or diced bell peppers for a vegetarian option.
  • Serve immediately after baking for best flavor and texture.
  • Use a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish to ensure the dip spreads evenly and cooks through properly.
  • This dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven before serving.
