Description

A delicious and creamy Chocolate Hummus made with great northern beans, peanut butter, and cocoa powder, sweetened with maple syrup. This versatile and healthy spread is perfect for dipping fruits, spreading on toast, or enjoying with crackers.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Hummus Ingredients

  • 1 (15oz) can great northern beans, drained & rinsed well
  • 3 tablespoons 100% peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Dash of sea salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the great northern beans, peanut butter, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and a dash of sea salt to a food processor.
  2. Process to Smooth: Start the food processor. As the mixture begins to smooth out, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of water at a time until it reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency.
  3. Serve: Once everything is completely smooth, transfer the chocolate hummus to a bowl for serving. Enjoy it with fruits like strawberries and apples, spread on bananas, use as a dip for graham crackers, or spread it on warm toasted bread.

Notes

  • Ensure the beans are well rinsed to avoid any canned bean aftertaste.
  • Adjust water quantity to reach your preferred consistency.
  • Try substituting peanut butter with almond or cashew butter for a different flavor.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature depending on preference.
  • Perfect for a healthy dessert or snack option.
