Description

Delightful and fun Banana Split Bites featuring ripe banana pieces dipped in smooth milk chocolate, coated with colorful sprinkles, topped with whipped topping and a bright maraschino cherry. Perfect for a quick and easy dessert that captures the classic flavors of a banana split in bite-sized form.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana Split Bites Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip (original or fat free)
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries
  • Milk chocolate candy discs (about 1 cup for melting)
  • Sprinkles (about ½ cup)
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Prepare Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut each into 2-3 inch pieces so they are easy to handle and bite-sized.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate candy discs according to the package directions until smooth and creamy for dipping.
  3. Dip Bananas in Chocolate: Hold each banana piece by a toothpick and dip it about halfway up into the melted chocolate, coating it evenly.
  4. Add Sprinkles: Immediately dip the chocolate-covered end into sprinkles and roll or press to coat thoroughly for added color and texture.
  5. Set and Harden: Place the dipped bananas on a lined tray and let them set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
  6. Pipe Whipped Topping: Transfer the Cool Whip into a piping bag or plastic zip-top bag with a corner snipped off and pipe a small dollop on the flat end (non-chocolate) of each banana piece.
  7. Top with Cherry: Finish by placing one maraschino cherry on top of each whipped topping dollop to complete the banana split look.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas for best handling during dipping.
  • If Cool Whip is too soft, chill it before piping.
  • You can use semi-sweet or dark chocolate as an alternative to milk chocolate.
  • These bites are best served the same day but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
  • Sprinkles add a festive touch, but finely chopped nuts can be used as a substitute for texture variation.
