Ingredients
Scale
Banana Split Bites Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip (original or fat free)
- 1 jar maraschino cherries
- Milk chocolate candy discs (about 1 cup for melting)
- Sprinkles (about ½ cup)
- Toothpicks
Instructions
- Prepare Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut each into 2-3 inch pieces so they are easy to handle and bite-sized.
- Melt Chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate candy discs according to the package directions until smooth and creamy for dipping.
- Dip Bananas in Chocolate: Hold each banana piece by a toothpick and dip it about halfway up into the melted chocolate, coating it evenly.
- Add Sprinkles: Immediately dip the chocolate-covered end into sprinkles and roll or press to coat thoroughly for added color and texture.
- Set and Harden: Place the dipped bananas on a lined tray and let them set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
- Pipe Whipped Topping: Transfer the Cool Whip into a piping bag or plastic zip-top bag with a corner snipped off and pipe a small dollop on the flat end (non-chocolate) of each banana piece.
- Top with Cherry: Finish by placing one maraschino cherry on top of each whipped topping dollop to complete the banana split look.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas for best handling during dipping.
- If Cool Whip is too soft, chill it before piping.
- You can use semi-sweet or dark chocolate as an alternative to milk chocolate.
- These bites are best served the same day but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
- Sprinkles add a festive touch, but finely chopped nuts can be used as a substitute for texture variation.
