Description

Crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Potato Wedges seasoned with garlic, paprika, and Parmesan cheese, perfect as a delicious snack or side dish. These wedges are easy to prepare, soaked for extra crispiness, and cooked to golden perfection in the air fryer for a healthier alternative to traditional fried potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 3 small Russet potatoes (unpeeled)

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Finishing Touches

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • extra salt to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soak potatoes (do not skip!): Scrub the potatoes clean under running water. Cut each potato into 8-10 wedges. Place the wedges in a large bowl and cover with ice-cold water. Let them soak for 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps achieve a crispier texture. Drain and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. Prep: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure it’s hot and ready for even cooking.
  3. Season: In a medium bowl, combine garlic powder, ground paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss the potato wedges first with olive oil to coat them evenly, then sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the wedges and toss again until all wedges are well coated.
  4. Air fry: Arrange the potato wedges in a single layer inside the hot air fryer basket. Depending on your basket size, you may need to cook them in batches. Air fry the wedges at 400°F for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking and browning.
  5. Finish: Once the wedges are golden and crispy, remove them from the air fryer. Place them in a large bowl and toss with additional salt if desired, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

  • Soaking the potatoes in cold water is essential to remove excess starch and achieve a crispy exterior.
  • Patting the potatoes dry before seasoning helps the oil and spices stick better and improves crispiness.
  • Shaking the basket every 5 minutes ensures even cooking and browning on all sides.
  • If cooking in batches, keep the finished wedges warm in a low oven while air frying the remaining batches.
  • Parmesan cheese and parsley add flavor and a lovely finishing touch but can be omitted or substituted according to preference.
